Wireless networks, or WiFi, have become
commonplace in homes and offices around the world over the past
decade. They are a cheap, quick, and easy way to share your Internet
connection with every computer in you home or office. Being wireless
saves you the great expense, and time investment that had previously
been required to run Cat-5 network cable through the walls,
ceilings, and floors of your house or office building. Before Wi-Fi
became so cheaply, and readily, available, you would have to hire a
licensed electrician, by the hour, to drill holes in your walls and
set up something similar to a phone jack in order for you to connect
your computer to you router. This was very time consuming, and could
be very expensive, especially in older homes and office buildings.
